'Broadband' is a high speed Internet access with data transmission of speeds greater than 256Kbps.

TIME Broadband is an affordable high quality flexible broadband Internet service provided to you by TIME dotNet Bhd, subsidiary of TIME dotCom Berhad.
 
3. What are the packages offered by TIME Broadband?
TIME Broadband offers flexible and affordable high quality broadband services, which includes BizNET packages for business users and HomeNET packages for residential users.
 
4. What does TIME Broadband offer?
TIME Broadband offers speeds of up to 2Mbps for both upload and download of data, which is about 36 times faster than current dial-up Internet access.
 
5. How does TIME Broadband compare to my current DIAL-UP Internet access?
Current dial-up speeds on a 56kbps modem can only provide you speeds averaging from 9.6 kbps to 56.6 kbps. TIME Broadband provides an always-on connection to eliminate dialling up delays and lost connections.
 
6. How does TIME Broadband compare to my current ISDN Internet access?
ISDN provides data transmission speeds of up to 128kbps on a dial-up technology that charges the customer on a per minute basis whilst TIME Broadband provides always-on Internet data transmission speeds of up to 2Mbps at one fixed rate a month.

8. What is unique about TIME Broadband compared to other broadband access offerings?

TIME Broadband is based on a series of next generation technologies that allows you to:

  • Access the Internet at speeds of up to 2Mbps for both sending and receiving data. Other access technologies offer slower speeds when transmitting information to the Internet.
Have multiple PCs connected in your office using simple NAT/PAT/proxy software or hardware and 10/100BaseT switches or 10/100Base Hubs, rather than having to purchase expensive and complex routers.

10. With TIME Broadband, do I need an Internet Service Provider?
TIME is an integrated communication solutions provider and is a full-fledged Tier 1 Internet Service Provider that offers not only Internet access for both consumers and business users, but also Web Hosting, Server Co-Location and Dedicated Servers. There is no need for a separate ISP when you sign up with TIME Broadband.
 
11. Other then the monthly charges, will I be charged for Telco usage fee?
No. TIME Broadband is neither a dialup Internet access service nor an ISDN service; as such there are no Telco charges.
 
12. Is there a minimum contract period?
Yes, you will need to subscribe to our service for a minimum period of 12 months for BizNET and 6 months for HomeNET.
 
13. What is the billing process for TIME Broadband?
Users will be billed on an upfront quarterly or annual basis for BizNET and monthly basis for HomeNET. Billings will be issued by TIME dotNet Berhad.
 
14. Can I still use my Jaring or TMNet account to receive and send mail?
Yes, you can. All you need to do is to change your smtp relay address (outgoing mail) to smtp.time.net.my
 
15. How do I check for service availability in my building?
You can check the service availability in your area by calling our state- of- the- art Customer Service Centre at 1 800 381 322 or alternatively you can e-mail us at timebroadband@time.net.my
 
16. How can I sign up and get connected?
  • First, please check for the service availability in your area at http://www.time.com.my.
  • Call our Customer Service Centre at 1800 381 322 and our Account Managers will contact you.
  • Upon verification of the application form, our appointed technician will arrange for an installation date.
  • All wiring from the telephone riser (DB) to the office/apartment unit and all internal wiring will be prepared by the subscriber unless there are existing unutilised copper wires.
  • On the installation day, our technician will commence the necessary installation works.
  • To connect to a single PC, plug the RJ45 cable into existing 10/100BaseT network card. (Subscriber to supply own network card)
  • To connect to multiple PCs in a LAN environment, plug the RJ45 cable (network cable) into 10/100BaseT network switch/hub that will then connect to a NAT/PAT/Proxy device (gateway). (Customer to supply own hubs/switches/ PAT/Proxy/NAT devices)
  • Finally, configure the network devices and PCs, following the IP configuration
 
17. What is provided by TIME on the day of installation?

On the day of installation, you will be provided with:-

  • One DSL modem - rental of modem free of charge*
  • One Network Interface Card (only applicable to HomeNET subscribers)
    * no cabling provided. CPE will be maintained & owned by provider.
Further to the above, the subscriber would need to bear all cost for any extra requirements and this is based on availability of stock.
 
18. How do I apply for more additional IP addresses than what is allocated?

IP addresses or alternatively contact our Customer Service Centre at 1 800 381 322
